Next Up: Rebecca Cantrell

February 1st, 2010

Rebecca Cantrell is the author of an amazing novel set in Berlin in the early 1930s, A TRACE OF SMOKE, which Publisher’s Weekly calls “unforgettable.”

Her next book, A NIGHT OF LONG KNIVES, also features journalist Hannah Vogel, the protagonist of A TRACE OF SMOKE, and will come out in June of this year.  Her guest essay, which will appear on Wednesday, is one of the clearest pictures of one artist’s creative process I’ve read in a long time.  It’s a kind of modified pantsing, but . . . well, I’ll let Rebecca tell you.  I know you’ll enjoy it.
