Coming Up: More from Robb

July 6th, 2011

Something’s coming, and it’s not from me.  It’s from Robb again, and you’re going to love it.

It’s another memory piece, but this time about someone new, someone we met when we were living and rehearsing in that lovely condo we trashed.

Maybe tomorrow, maybe Friday.

By the way, the winners of the two sets of signed Poke Rafferty books were Kathleen Rainwater and Larry Montgomery.  I wrote the names of the people who weighed in on the LITTLE ELVIS covers on a piece of paper, cut them up, dropped them into a salad bowl, and picked two with my eyes closed.  I expect cynicism about this method from Gary and Everett, but that’s what it was.

If you guys are still around and reading this, I need snail mail addresses.

You’re going to love Robb’s piece.

I’d only be cynical if you wrote some people’s names on two pieces of paper and other people’s names on one piece, or if you used different textures of paper for some people than everyone else.

But you wouldn’t do something like that. You’re a writer, and writers are inherently truthful, honest, trustworthy and kind. It’s the narrators that you can’t trust.

Tim, The Pleasure Fair was certainly a supergroup – in retrospect, one could say. You guys must be so proud of your association. I think a CD reissue of the LP is in order. Three – no, four cheers!

Yeah – truthful, honest, trustworthy and kind. Like wanting us to believe in Dr. Macavity.
